SERMON NOTES:   “The Day of the Lord”       I Thessalonians 5:1-3        David Anderson

I. Eight Observations about the Day of the Lord from this passage:

1. First, the Day of the Lord is different from the rapture of the Church.

2. Second, the Day of the Lord arrives uninvited and unannounced.

3. Third, the Day of the Lord arrives unexpectedly.

4. Fourth, the Day of the Lord arrives rapidly.

5. Fifth, the Day of the Lord will come destructively.

6. Sixth, the Day of the Lord is inevitable.

7. Seventh, like labor pains the Day of the Lord is irreversible.

8. Eighth, the Day of the Lord is unavoidable.

II. What is the “Day of the Lord?”

III. When will the Day of the Lord take place?

IV. What are the signs that precede the Day of the Lord?

V. Application-Why is this important?
