Bulletin Announcements for June 1st


UPCOMING EVENTS:

  • Get ready for ‘4 Summer Nights’ - June 18th and 25th / July 2nd and 9th; 6:30 – 7:00 Desserts ONLY; 7:00 – 8:15 Bible Classes and kids program; (2 years old through 5th grade). Please sign up for these classes on the table in the overflow room
    • “Table Talks” with the elders (topical discussions) facilitated by David Anderson
    • “Financial Peace” taught by John Pitzer and Jay Hutchison
    • “Habbakuk”  TBA
  • Youth Workers:  You are required to have your fingerprints on file to work as a youth worker. We will have an opportunity for you to get this done next Sunday, June 8th (see Dave Smidt in the fireside area).
  • Plan on the LBC Annual July 4th Party!  Held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm (Friday this year!).  Activities for all ages; 5:30 (free) picnic served at LBC; 8:00 Fireworks at Cornerstone Park!


ANNOUNCEMENTS:

  • Youth Grade Changes:  The Junior High and High School Grade change is TODAY (this includes 5th graders going into Junior High).
  • Join the ESL Conversation Club: Open membership. Drop-in any  Wed. from 11-12 pm during June and July to TALK with our international students. No teaching. No planning. Game and question cards provided. Call Kathleen Howell or Julie Witte.
  • Summer ESL still needs a few teachers for the evenings, and possibly some subs.  See Morgan Smelker if interested.
  • King Soopers Gift Card Promotion:  This doesn’t cost you any more than it normally would to shop at King Soopers, and up to a 5% discount will be applied to the  Deacons  Benevolence Fund! See Bill or Paula Leopold for details and to sign up.

1. Like the Apostle Paul, we need to be open about sexual immorality, not silent.    

2. Be aware of the entertainment factor.

3. Make a covenant with your eyes.

4. Discipline yourself in the small things.

5. When you do sin don’t conceal your sins, expose them quickly, and turn back to God.

6. Remember that you are to mortify sin.

7. Get serious and practical about this.

8. Rehearse the consequences of sin.
